Seymour Exploration Corp. Provides Interim Results of Ongoing Exploration Program at Lynn Lake Nickel Property

Sudbury, Ontario – May 30, 2006 – Seymour Exploration Corp. (SEZ: TSX-V) today announced interim results of ongoing exploration activities at Lynn Lake.

Highlights of these results include:

  • Drill intersections of 10 feet grading 1.2% nickel and 0.3% copper and a separate section of 2 feet grading 1.9% nickel and 0.6% copper along the lower edge of the ‘Golf’ target;
  • Identification of a large, highly conductive body located above the ‘Golf’ mineralized zone;
  • First hole drilling the ‘Hotel’ target is 50% complete; and
  • Completion of a multi-loop electromagnetic (TDEM) survey.

The Company recently completed hole LLN-003, which was drilled to begin testing the ‘Golf’ mineralized zone. Nickel mineralization consisting of 10 feet of 1.2% nickel and 0.3% copper was encountered 840 feet below the 3,000 foot level development. This section of mineralization corresponds with the lower edge of the ‘Golf’ zone and has the grade characteristics expected from the ‘Golf’ zone. A separate section of 2 feet grading 1.9% nickel and 0.6% copper was intersected 600 feet further below the 3,000 foot level. This second intersection is more vein style and is similar to other sulphide veins described in the periphery of several of the mined orebodies.

The borehole drilled unusually straight and went just under the target zone. Hole LLN-003 is now ideally placed as a pilot stem for a series of wedged branch holes into the ‘Golf’ target, which hosts historic intersects of up to 75 feet of 1.2% nickel, 0.5% copper. LLN-003 was completed below and west of the 3,000 foot level underground development, demonstrating the existence of exploration potential at depths below the mine’s historic workings.

A large, strongly conductive body was identified when the Company carried out down hole geophysics in hole LLN-003. This new target is estimated to have a strike extent of at least 1,000 feet and a vertical extent of at least 1,000 feet, extending vertically up to at least the 2,000 foot level. The new conductor extends upward from known mineralization at the top of the ‘Golf’ complex into a part of the mine environment that was never drilled in the past. It is interpreted that this new conductor is the up-dip extension of ‘Golf,’ which was intersected in 7 historic holes and remains open toward the north and south, as well as both vertically both up and down.

Commenting on the discovery of this new conductive body, Seymour Exploration President and CEO, Richard Murphy stated: “The discovery of a large previously unknown conductive body immediately above the golf target is great news for shareholders. It appears that this conductive body is an extension of the golf mineralized zone. This broader zone has now become the focus of current drilling and geophysics, with the view to defining the full extent of the ‘Golf’ mineralized system.”

Hole LLN-003 is currently being re-surveyed with down hole geophysics to better prepare the adjacent ‘Golf’ target for further drilling via wedging. This additional surveying will also more fully measure the new conductor situated above ‘Golf’ which will need new drilling.

The fact that the borehole geophysical survey was able to detect a new large conductive source, which the Company believes is an extension of the ‘Golf’ zone, is very positive for the program at Lynn Lake. It demonstrates that the borehole geophysics is capable of detecting not only the known mineralized zones, but also previously unknown extensions or entirely new conductive targets. The Company is very pleased with this demonstrated success of its intended methodology for exploring the mine environment at Lynn Lake. It has confirmed the Company’s hypothesis that the application of 3-D modeling combined with drilling and modern geophysics at Lynn Lake would lead to the discovery of new, highly prospective, exploration targets.

The Company is now drilling a hole to test the ‘Hotel’ target, which is situated at the 2,000 foot level and centered approximately 1,200 feet west of ‘Golf’. This hole is currently 50% complete and can be used as a pilot hole to drill wedged branches quickly into the zone. The ‘Hotel’ zone remains open to the north, south, east and west, and the Company will employ borehole geophysics to direct drilling into the most concentrated mineralization as work progresses on ‘Hotel’.

A multi-loop electromagnetic (TDEM) survey has been completed over the entire mine area. The data for this survey is being interpreted with the objective of producing new drill targets in the near surface environment on the mine property.

Seymour Exploration Corp. owns 100% of the Lynn Lake nickel property. The Company is now drilling to test for additional nickel-copper resource potential. The mine produced 22.2 million tons of ore at an average grade of 1.0% nickel and 0.5% copper between 1953 and 1976.

Currently, measured and indicated resources on the property include 6.3 million tons grading 0.85% nickel and 0.39% copper (see the Company’s 43-101 compliant resource estimate, as detailed in its press release of September 19, 2005).

Samples have been analyzed by ALS Chemex in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Seven elements are analyzed by four acid “near total” digestion and ICPAES finish. Assays for nickel and copper are completed on selected samples by four acid “near total” digestion and AAS finish. Select samples are analyzed by Sodium Peroxide Fusion, acid dissolution and ICPAES analysis. The Qualified Person responsible for the technical content of this news release is Richard Murphy, P.
